Dive Group from Kuala Lumpur comes to dive
with Badladz Adventure Divers.
A big thanks to Lydia and her group for coming to visit us on our 6 Day, 5 night, 12 dive package!!
Badladz Adventure Divers offer bespoke group packages to suit dive groups of all types and sizes:
Lydia and her group of 7 divers came to Badladz Adventure Divers on a 6 day/5 night/10 dive all inclusive package. Lydia took advantage of the specialized packages that Badladz Adventure divers offers.
Here is an account of their time here in Puerto Galera in the Philippines with Badladz.
Room with a view.
We pick the group up at Clark airport with private, air-conditioned van transport and take them to Batangas Pier. Once in Batangas the group choose the option of a private boat straight Badladz Dive Resort, Puerto Galera. (One can also take the public ferry which docks only 50 metres from the resort.) Once they reach the beautiful bay of Puerto Galera and sit down at Badladz restaurant the weary travelers start to smile. “What a magnificent view!” and “aaaaah” shows that they are happy to relax and get into holiday mode.
After some refreshments and free coffee & tea, we show them their rooms. They are really happy with the clean, air-conditioned rooms with hot shower facilities. One guest remarks, “The view of the bay is even better from up here!”
The next day, after a good nights rest, the group is up early and ready to dive! A balmy 32 degrees and not a cloud in the sky promises good conditions and excellent diving around Puerto Galera Bay and surrounds. The water temperature is 29 degrees and visibility over 20 metres! The day is jam packed with diving activities.
1st Dive Sabang Point with 3 small wrecks
The first dive is a nice relaxed at Sabang Point. Everyone has time to get into the swing of diving again and just enjoy being underwater. Pointers, advice and refreshers are given where needed. The wrecks also offer great diving for the photographers, providing both wide angle and macro subjects.
The surface interval is spent at the floating bar. Coffee, tea, milo, cool drinks and even home made french fries can be bought. The floating bar is in Sabang Bay itself so it also offers swimming and great snorkeling too. The afternoon dives introduce the group to some of Puerto Galera’s famous dives sites. Puerto Galera is known as one of the top diving destinations in the Philippines. It lies in the epi-centre of bio diversity if offers amazing corals and a large variety of fish. However it is most definitely known for the rare and exotic species that can be found here. The group IS happy to find both macro & exotic critters at Puerto Galera’s prime macro sites; giant clams and secret bay. The group comes back from diving, with big smiles and beautiful pictures of 4 different seahorses, giant & baby frog fish, flamboyant cuttle fish and even the elusive mimic octopus!
Macro at secret bay.
Here is Lydia’s response when asked about diving in Puerto Galera. “The diving in Puerto Galera was amazing, it was really over and above my expectations. It may not be as famous as Malapascua or Palawan islands but it is definitely a marvelous island to explore in the Philipines. With variety of macro and critters, especially the seahorses! I’ve never seen so many seahorses on a dive trip, ever!! those creatures are just delightful to watch. The night dive at white beach was also great! We saw lots of new things like the big nudi which was eating like a lawnmower, it was just so bizzare!” After a great day of diving, dinner was served. The package includes 3 set meals per day and for this group we offered both the halal and vegetarian options. (Badladz restaurant can accommodate any dietary needs, just let us know in advance.)
After the days diving activities are done, it was time for the group to explore the area surrounding area of Puerto Galera. So we bundle them into the cute Filipino tricycles and off they go to White Beach which is aprox 15 minutes (5 kms) away. White beach offers beach restaurants, shopping, henna tattoo’s, massage & water activities.
Breakfast
Day 2 & 3 of diving is filled with good times. We take advantage of the great visibility and put the Alma Jane on the schedule. This site is wreck diving at it’s best. Alma jane is a 30 metre long cargo vessel encrusted in corals and lying upright at a depth of 30 metres. It is a spectacular dive and the swim through adds an extra dimension to the experience.
Read more on the Alma Jane in this article by Badladz Adventure Divers. Other dive sites in Puerto Galera include, Monkey Beach where big fish live, West Escarceo – where the pygmy seahorse can be found and La Laguna, known for it’s sheer walls and bountiful coral. Read more here on diving in Puerto Galera with Badladz Adventure Divers. The group also took advantage of our Verde Island Package. Upon return, Lydia exclaimed, “Of course Verde island is just fantastic! With huge walls, it is just like a mini Sipadan. Visibility was superb and the corals are lovely, despite the challenge with current. We really had a great time in Verde island.” Our video of Verde Island says it all.
Last night beach BBQ and singing with Badladz Adventure Divers
On the last evening we always organize a barbeque for the group. This time we decided to have it at Badladz beach resort. “The most memorable part of our trip was of course the barbecue party at the beach house on the last night. The food was delicious and Badladz Adventure Divers has organized it so well for us. The beach house was lovely, the night was fun where Johnny & Megat played guitar and we sang songs, had drinks and were just having fun all night!. Well we were really really overwhelmed with your gesture. Badladz has really made the last night very special for us.”
Taal Volcano view
Badladz Adventure Divers organized at trip to the Taal volcano lake in Tagatay on their return trip to Manila. This is what Lydia had to say about the experience. “The journey was about a 3 hour detour, because of the traffic but it was definitely worth it. The view was absolutely amazing! When we were driving up, we could see the view of the lake on the right and the high mountains on our left. We stopped at a view point to take some pictures and it was breathtaking, the lake was huge…. It was also sunset so we had a gorgeous view of the sunset with the mountains. It was lovely. worth the journey! Everybody should go.”
At the end of her email Lydia wrote: “We thank you so much for your great service and warm hospitality. We shall definitely come again, just for that and of course the diving!”
